Overview
WNBF SG strictly follows the regulations and directives established by both the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation. Our in-competition and out-of-competition guidelines align with the principles outlined in the WADA Code. It is essential that athletes participating in WNBF SG events embody natural bodybuilding standards. To ensure compliance, athletes must have refrained from using performance and image enhancing drugs (PIEDs) for a minimum of 10 years before competing in any WNBF SG event.
WNBF Professionals should adhere to and reference the WNBF website for all official rules in relation to professional status.
drug test & banned substance
drug testing has been out top priority for over 35 years!
The backbone of our reputation is the strict adherence to stringent drug testing. We place the highest importance on ensuring that athletes are drug-free to ensure fair competition at every event Worldwide. We are proud to announce that we have over 17,000 urine test results on file since 1989!

The use of performance and image enhancing drugs are strictly prohibited. We also endorse the WADA code, all athletes must adhere to the prohibited substances and methods list. Athletes are also subject to random testing. All INBF/WNBF athletes must be 10 years drug free of prescription/pharmaceutical hormones on the prohibited substance list.
supplements
Athletes are advised to exercise caution as certain supplements may contain banned substances. Not all supplements are formulated with natural bodybuilders in consideration. Athletes bear full responsibility for any supplements or substances they ingest. If uncertain about the classification of any substance or compound in a supplement, please refer to the WADA code, or cross-reference with ADS (Anti-Doping Singapore) for clarification. Refrain from consuming supplements or substances provided by coaches or friends without ensuring the actual content. Ignorance of prohibited substances is not accepted as a valid excuse under the WADA code.
Drug Testing
Athletes who participate in WNBF SG events are subjected to drug testing by biological sampling (urinalysis/blood/hair sampling). Urinalysis testing is covered by your membership fee. Testing can be either random or targeted (e.g. class winners).
Failure to submit to a drug test will be considered a drug test failure.
Polygraph Examination
A polygraph test, commonly referred to as a lie detector test, is employed as a mandatory examination by the INBF/WNBF to ensure that competitors have not utilized banned substances or performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) in preparation any competition. Typically administered to contestants before the event, it serves to verify their claims of training naturally and being free from drugs.
OUT OF COMPETITION DRUG TEST
All members are subject to both in-season and out-of-season testing. Non-active members are subject to out-of-season testing for 2 years from the date of joining the WNBF SG. Athletes must make themselves available for out-of-season testing when requested. Athletes will submit to testing at an agreed-upon location within 20 miles of the athlete’s residence or gym. Failure to submit to out-of-season testing by either polygraph or biological sampling (urinalysis/blood/hair sampling) will be treated as a drug test failure.
drug test failures
Any athletes who fail to pass a polygraph test will be suspended from all WNBF events until they can subsequently pass a polygraph examination at a time and place specified by the event promoter.

Any athlete who fails the biological drug test (urinalysis/blood/hair sampling) will be suspended from the WNBF SG.
